CE declaration of conformity

The CE mark was primarily created to guarantee the free movement of safe products for end consumers within the European Economic Area (EEA) and the European Community (EC) within it. The CE mark is often referred to as a “passport” for the European internal market.

By using the CE mark, MENTOR confirms that its products are compliant with the applicable EU directives and the “key requirements” stipulated in them.

Directive 2002/95/EC is better known as the RoHS Directive (Restriction of Hazardous Substances).

It regulates the restriction of the use of hazardous substances. With effect from 1 July 2006, products containing the elements and compounds listed below may only be brought into circulation if the content of those elements and compounds does not exceed the respective limit value:

Medical devices as well as monitoring and control instruments and spare parts intended for the repair or recycling of electrical and electronic devices which were brought onto the market before 1 July 2006 are excluded from this directive.

The new RoHS directive 2011/65/EU², also called RoHS-II, is extending the scope of the substance bans in several stages. With effect from 2019, they shall apply to all electrical and electronic devices that are not explicitly excluded.

This declaration is made by MENTOR to the best of its knowledge and judgement. It is based in part on information provided to MENTOR in advance by manufacturers and suppliers.
